Prison and Probation Service Expands – We Are Hiring a Case Officer at Halmstad Prison
The Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and are now seeking more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will become safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, remand prisons, and client transport.
Halmstad Prison consists of approximately 160 employees distributed across various professional groups and competencies. The prison is located five kilometers west of the city center, right next to the Flygstadens commercial area in Halmstad. The distance to the city center is about 10-15 minutes by bus or bicycle.
A remand prison is currently being built on the prison grounds, with a planned inauguration in the spring/summer of 2027. The increase in capacity will result in a doubling of the Prison and Probation Service's operations in Halmstad.
